NTFS for Linux 7.0 Professional

Paragon NTFS for Linux 7.0 is a commercial Linux kernel driver for rapid and transparent read/write access to NTFS volumes. The Professional Edition includes the fully functional NTFS for Linux driver, complementary support, a driver to mount Microsoft Dynamic Volumes/Software RAID, and additional utilities to check partition integrity, defragment, wipe, create NTFS volumes and perform other NTFS file system related tasks from your Linux OS

System Requirements

  • OS: Linux with kernel 2.4.x or 2.6.x
  • RAM: 0.5 MB to load the driver and 0.5 MB per mounted volume for operation
  • CPU: i586 or higher (for other platforms see below)
  • HDD: 10 MB

  • Supported architectures:
    This product supports x86 and x86-64 architectures. Paragon Software also offers drivers for other architectures where Linux was ported to. For example:
    • x86
    • ARM
    • MIPS
    • SuperH (SH4)
    • Power PC

  • Supported Linux kernel:
    We strongly recommend using one of the most recent 2.6 or 2.4 kernels for your hardware platform and distribution or any stable Linux kernel from the www.kernel.org. Using newer Linux kernels, based on Linux kernel versions from the www.kernel.org site, is not strictly prohibited. In case of problems with the operating system, please try to reproduce it on a stable Linux kernel and contact the support organization of your Linux distributor if the problem persists.

  • Supported Linux distributions:
    The following Linux distributions have been tested in the Paragon test lab:
    • Ubuntu 10.04;
    • LinuxMint 8;
    • OpenSuse 11.2;
    • Mandriva Free 2010;
    • Debian 5.04;
    • Slackware 13;
    • CentOS 5.4;
    • Red Hat EL

  • Development environment:
    A development environment is required to compile the Linux drivers. Please make sure that you have installed:
    • Kernel header files
    • GNU C (gcc) compiler
    • GNU C++ (g++) compiler
    • GNU Make
    • GNU ld (binutils)
    • Modutils (module-init tools)
