FREIBURG, Germany, October 28 , 2014 — Paragon Software Group (PSG), a leader in data protection, backup and disaster recovery, announces the release of Paragon Hard Disk Manager (HDM) 15 Suite and Professional – complete, all-in-one data management solutions for Windows PC users working in physical or virtual environments. The new HDM 15 lets users create backups directly in the form of virtual disks in any of the supported formats (pVHD, VMDK, VHD, VHDX). The Professional edition now delivers high-performance file exclusion filters for efficient backup and recovery operations, the capability of editing virtual hard disks, Hyper-V guest system backup, powerful scripting, and expanded support for virtual machines. Both editions allow the creation of bootable recovery media. HDM 15 Suite unites more than 20 advanced data management technologies, including partitioning, boot correction, file and image backup, disk copying, secure data wiping (even on SSDs), and flexible recovery options. The Professional version is packed with even more features. HDM 15 Suite and Professional users get an update to Windows 10 support for free!

New functions in HDM 15 Suite:

  • Embedded Recovery Media Builder 3.0 makes it extremely easy and flexible to create your own personal recovery environment
  • File-level backup/restore for virtual containers
  • Wipe SSDs user-friendly and permanently
  • Revised User Interface for easier navigation

New functions in HDM 15 Professional include all of the above, plus:

  • Agentless protection of Hyper-V guest machines
  • P2V-Restore from virtual containers

Typical usage scenarios for PC users include:

System & data backup
The entire system, individual partitions or just selected files can be backed up manually or on a schedule. The incremental and differential backup technologies make continuous system backups exceptionally efficient. A one-time full backup of the entire computer followed by regular incremental backups keep the latest status of the PC safe. Backup containers in the pVHD (Paragon Virtual Hard Disk) format speed up backups to network storage up to 10 times.

The Professional edition provides scripting to automate frequently used operations. A variety of virtual backup containers are available, including the space-saving pVHD format as well as Hyper-V (VHDX) and other containers that can be used as base for virtual systems. The full selection of backup options (sector and file-based, differential or incremental backups or special file complements) are available in all cases. Password protection keeps sensitive data safe, and BitLocker encrypted volumes are supported.

Partitioning & optimization
Whether preparing a hard disk for use with multiple operating systems or redistributing storage space among several partitions, automatic partition alignment maximizes the performance of SSDs and hard disks with 4K sectors, and RAID volumes.

Paragon ConnectVD (Virtual Disk) included in the Professional edition makes it easy to manage virtual drives – anything from partitioning or MFT defragmentation to data exchange. The advanced mode provides precise analysis and repair tools useful when fixing booting problems or analyzing the hard drive’s status.

Recovery
In case of a disaster, backups can be restored to different hardware. The Universal Image Mounter (UIM) gives full access to archived files at all times. The user simply maps a backup archive as a network drive and the contained files will be accessible, just like a physical hard disk. HDM 15 lets the user restore the entire system, specific partitions or individual files.

Dependable data wiping
HDM’s wiping function helps free up storage space and permanently deletes sensitive data using Paragon’s efficient wiping algorithms or user-developed algorithms. SSDs can be wiped without shortening their service life.

Hyper-V backup (Professional edition only)
HDM 15 backs up Hyper-V guest systems without requiring installation on the virtual system in question (agentless backup). This allows the protection of multiple Hyper-V systems from a central location, whether or not they are running.

Paragon Software Group releases Protect & Restore 3.5 for business organizations of all sizes to meet data protection and restore objectives in virtual and physical environments

Unified, scalable protection solution for heterogeneous IT infrastructures now with enhanced performance, a new powerful deduplication mechanism, the most efficient Exchange database backup and recovery, protection of virtual machines hosted by Microsoft Hyper-V, Paragon’s proprietary patent-pending data processing techniques and more!

FREIBURG, Germany , October 15, 2014 —  Paragon Software Group, a leader in data protection and backup and disaster recovery since 1994, announces the release of  Paragon Protect & Restore 3.5 – an advanced backup and disaster recovery solution with centralized IT management for organizations employing diverse platforms and technologies in physical and virtual environments. The new PPR 3.5 delivers rock-solid security in heterogeneous IT environments consisting of domain and non-domain machines.

PPR 3.5 comes with significantly increased backup and recovery performance by at least 50%. In addition, the new PPR 3.5 is now able to work with complex infrastructures utilizing up to 20,000 objects per OU (Organizational Unit).

The new release brings the most efficient utilization of backup storage and network traffic, delivering a very powerful deduplication mechanism, specially developed for today’s diverse corporate IT environments challenged with managing heterogeneous systems. PPR 3.5 delivers enhanced Exchange database backup and recovery, protection of virtual machines hosted by Microsoft Hyper-V, and other advancements.

In case of a disaster, PPR enables IT administrators to instantly restore any physical or virtual machine, minimizing the downtime and the entire recovery process to seconds. PPR employs the VMware replication mechanism, strengthened and broadened by Paragon Software’s own proprietary patent-pending data processing techniques that enable it to benefit from very fast recovery timings of VM replication during the restore of physical machines, making it a unique feature on the market.

“Data is the most important asset of any organization. In case of a disaster, IT administrators should be able to get systems back online within the minimal downtime. PPR tackles data loss threats posed to companies by providing advanced, easy-to-use protection, incorporating the latest imaging, replication and restore technologies,” commented Konstantin Komarov, CEO of Paragon Software Group.

IT administrators can benefit from PPR’s ease of use via a centralized management console, very low impact on the performance of systems during backup, and distributed architecture providing real flexibility. Attractive licensing models, based on the number of systems and variety of platforms to be protected, are especially optimized to meet up to date IT-compliance and financial controlling guidelines. Paragon offers a competitive (up to 50%) discount to companies replacing multiple data protection solutions for various platforms and environments with PPR, designed to work seamlessly with all.

New features and benefits:

-  Backup Data Deduplication

Paragon’s deduplication mechanism significantly reduces backup storage footprint and network traffic. PPR works the same way for both – virtual and physical backup images, thus enabling a better deduplication efficiency. Moreover, Paragon’s deduplication works globally, meaning that all backup data sent to the deduplication server is deduplicated, while other solutions on the market only offer a block-level deduplication for images created by one backup job.

PPR offers an intelligent continuous validation technique to guarantee all unique data blocks used by multiple restore points and backup storages are consistent. An additional level of protection can be achieved by using multiple deduplication servers in a mirrored configuration.

-  Enhanced Exchange Database Backup and Recovery

PPR offers agent-based protection of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010/2013 and its email databases. By operating at the application level through MS VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) API, the administrator does not need to allocate time for backup windows, for PPR enables consistent database backups without any impact on the production email server.

PPR supports all the latest MS Exchange backup technologies, like incremental imaging, data retention, block-level data deduplication, and others. The product’s main advantage is in the flexible restore of all or specific databases to the original or new location, including restore to RSG (Recovery Storage Group) or Recovery Database with the option to create a dial tone database to let users send or receive emails in the process. PPR also allows non-destructive restore of certain mailboxes.

-  Enhanced Virtual Machine Backup and Replication

PPR enables the administrator to set the best backup method for any vSphere guest machine to protect it with minimal overheads.

Comprehensive backup validation facilities allow the organizing of field tests for an existing recovery plan by simulating recovery procedures in an isolated network environment. In case of emergency, the administrator can get a failed virtual machine back on track in seconds by failing over to one of its replicas.

In PPR, backup techniques for physical and virtual machines are closely integrated, including dual backup scenarios, which has opened a way for the instant launch of physical backup images directly in a vSphere environment for recovery or test purposes.

-  Highest Performance and Exceptional Robustness

PPR feels completely at home in a huge infrastructure comprising thousands of protected machines. It has been tested and proved completely viable in browsing up to 20000 Active Directory objects per one OU (Organizational Unit).

PPR includes a powerful logging mechanism, which enables it to keep track of any action accomplished either by the administrator or the infrastructure itself. To avoid overgrowth of the log database, it can be truncated by setting the maximum object lifetime until archived or deleted.

WinPE bootable media prepared through RMB 3.0 (Recovery Media Builder) can boast more functions and usability, e.g. granular restore for Hyper-V guests, easy network reconfiguration of infrastructure members, better support of target machines with several NICs aboard, etc.

-  Native PPR Security

Especially for diverse environments that consist of Windows domain and workgroup machines as well as Linux workgroup machines where the Domain Controller security facilities cannot be employed, PPR includes a special security mode called Native PPR Security. Implementing the ‘one connection – one session approach’, Paragon Software has minimized the chances of unauthorized access, as each connection to the PPR infrastructure uses a special session with a unique ID, as protection against remote connection via any third-party application.

-  Rotating Media Support

PPR introduces a new type of backup destination called the disk pool. Its main benefit lies in the fact that drives can be removed or added to a pool at any time without having to reconfigure the backup policies that use it. This minimizes the risk of downtime or data loss in cases when the allocated storage has failed or run out of space, and it perfectly fits with today’s compliance regulations mandating the use of new backup storage media each day. Paragon Software releases Hard Disk Manager 15 Preview – a complete data management tool for physical and virtual storage with maximum flexibility for SMBs and enterprises

Test the latest backup technology for 90 days, free of charge now!

FREIBURG, Germany,  September 18 , 2014 — Paragon Software Group (PSG), a leader in data protection, backup and disaster recovery, today released a free 90-day trial of Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 Preview, a complete data management solution with flexible physical and virtual backup formats for businesses. HDM 15 supports the right backup formats for a variety of tasks including archiving or virtualization. Unlike traditional backup methods, HDM 15 supports a wide range of virtual disk formats, making it ideal for use with virtual machines. The Connect VD (Virtual Drive) feature allows IT administrators to set the partitioning and editing of virtual data media in just the same way they would with regular physical hard disks. VD backup features now provide the full set of backup tools, including file complement, incremental backup and others.

New major features include:

·         Virtual container replaces the previous backup archive

·         Recovery Media Builder 3.0

·         Easy virtualization

·         MS Hyper-V backup

·         Incremental, differential and file-based backups to virtual containers

The new backup technology lets users create backups directly in the form of virtual disks in the format they need (VMDK/VHD/VHDX) and, if necessary, later use the P2V Adjust Assistant feature to adapt backups for use with VMware Workstation or other virtualization software. If you create regular incremental backups, for instance, each of these increments can be used as the basis for a virtual machine at any time. No matter what you’re using – Oracle VirtualBox, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Virtual PC or VMware Workstation – Hard Disk Manager 15 can handle the virtual disk formats these hypervisors use, and will also create backups directly in the formats you need. In addition, you’ll still have the full range of backup operation functions, including incremental backup, file-based backup, additional file backup, differential backup, and more. If you’re focusing more on archiving and want your backup containers to take up as little storage space as possible, then the Paragon Virtual Hard Disk Format (pVHD) is the right choice for you:  high compression rates and a network-friendly structure allow exceptionally efficient use of storage and speed up backup operations in the network  by up to 10 times.

Paragon Software secures two new major OEM partners for its Universal File System Driver technology

Global Agreements with Kingston Digital Inc. and ZTE Corporation Boost Paragon Software’s OEM Presence in Worldwide Mobile Device Market and Underscore Its Strength and Innovation in Embedded System Driver Technology

Irvine, CA, September 9, 2014 –  Paragon Software Group , a leader in data protection and embedded cross-platform file-access technology, today announced it has secured agreements with leading technology manufacturers Kingston Digital Inc. and ZTE Corporation. Paragon’s  Universal File System Driver (UFSD)solutions have been licensed by both companies to fuel mobile product initiatives, allowing them to deliver upon the promise of high performance and interoperability for their customers.

As mobile device usage continues its explosive growth, with a recent study revealing that greater than 50 percent of online time is now spent on mobile platforms, interest in Paragon’s UFSD driver technology is on the rise in the OEM market, according to Tom Fedro, President of Paragon Software Group Corporation.

“Paragon's Universal File System Drivers, including our exFAT and NTFS for Android offerings, play an important role in supporting our tier one OEMs’ efforts in the mobility market by ensuring high performance and complete interoperability with storage media of all kinds,” said Fedro. “We are very excited to have Kingston Digital and ZTE join our long list of OEM clients leveraging Paragon technology to deliver a powerful, uncompromising user experience."

ZTE Corporation, a publicly listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has licensed Paragon’s exFAT/NTFS for Android driver solutions for use with select mobile phones that use microSD cards. Paragon’s software enables these Android-based mobile phones to support 64GB, 128GB and larger microSD cards that are formatted to the exFAT or NTFS file system.

“This capacity boost is critical because, without Paragon UFSD drivers, users would be limited to a maximum of only 32GB of storage per card, missing out on 50 percent or more of valuable storage space to support today’s more data-intensive content, such as video and graphics,” said Fedro.

Kingston Digital Inc., the world's largest independent manufacturer of memory products, is leveraging Paragon UFSD technology as part of an innovative new approach to storage for mobile devices. Many mobile products lack support for SD cards or USB drives, so storage options are limited; the Kingston MobileLite Wireless family of media readers fills this market void. These WiFi media streamers incorporate Paragon's embedded exFAT and NTFS for Linux drivers, allowing mobile device owners to free up storage capacity on their devices by easily offloading content to an SDXC flash card or USB drive, which they can access later.

Paragon Software’s Pure Channel Program gains momentum as backup and recovery leader redefines industry’s approach to IT channel strategy

Innovative Channel Program Delivers Record Revenue Growth and Close Ratios of More Than 40 Percent for Participating Resellers and Managed Service Providers

Irvine, CA, August 13, 2014 – Paragon Software Group, a leader in data protection, backup and disaster recovery (BDR), today announced record revenue growthfor the first half of 2014, besting last year’s number by 86 percent for the same period. Due primarily to this year’s launch of the company’s new Pure Channel partner program, this growth is being driven by the significant increase in the number of new opportunities registered by partners. In addition, the channel partners, resellers and managed service providers (MSPs) participating in Pure Channel are experiencing close ratios of well over 40 percent on the almost 500 new customer opportunities passed on to them through the program.

Focused on helping resellers simplify sales cycles and achieve profitable growth, Pure Channel represents a major overhaul to the company’s previous channel program. It stands out in the market because it eliminates the need for traditional revenue commitments, certifications and contracts. The program is built around Paragon Protect & Restore (PPR), the company’s industry-leading, image-based BDR product. PPR is optimized for small and midsize business and mid-enterprise markets and designed for physical, virtual and hybrid server environments.

"With Pure Channel, our goal is simple: to help our resellers and MSPs grow their businesses profitably. We’ve made it our commitment to do everything we can to be the most effective vendor on their line cards; the growth and opportunities we’ve delivered to date through the program this year – far outpacing the results of 2013 – are just the beginning," said Tom Fedro, president of Paragon Software Group Corp.

Paragon’s “Pure Profit” Strategy Appeals to the Channel

Pure Channel features a high-impact “Pure Profit” strategy grounded in what Paragon calls “POP” (Paragon Opportunity Protection), which eliminates minimum revenue and tech training requirements,

guarantees 30 percent margin protection and streamlines sales cycles with the industry’s fastest online deal registration and transaction processes. In addition, unlike traditional, multi-tiered partner programs, Pure Channel allows resellers and MSPs to opt into one of only two Pure Channel partner levels: Pure Platinum or Pure Gold.

Pure Channel offers great value to Paragon resellers, according to Ron Belensky, Corporate Sales Trainer and Coach, MicroAge. “Pure Channel not only sets up our sales team for success, but also offers a refreshing and streamlined alternative to traditional BDR partner programs,” said Belensky. “Paragon has gone above and beyond to support our sales efforts by being easy to do business with and demonstrating their commitment to helping us reach our goals.”

Bob Ballard, President of Logisoft Computer Products, LLC, agrees.“With Paragon Software’s new Pure Channel program, it’s never been easier to register opportunities, get 30 percent protected margins and be more profitable selling data protection," said Ballard.

As part of the Pure Channel program, the company offers monthly webinars to drive partner enablement, with topics ranging from product and sales training to technical tips, business building, customer experience and more. Pure Channel also includes a number of additional go-to-market enhancements including leads, spiffs and dedicated technical support managers for select partners.

Award-Winning BDR Solution

In July, Paragon announced that PPR earned a 9.83 out of 10 points possible in TopTenReview’s 2014 ranking of Best Server Backup Software. In addition, PPR tied with a leading global brand to capture the top spot in the professional support category, while also earning the highest possible ratings across three other server backup software categories including recovery and restoration, management tools and resource management.

Resellers and MSPs interested in becoming Paragon partners can visit Paragon’s Pure Channel page at http://paragon-downloads.com/partners/paragon-pure-channel-program or call 888.347.5462.
