Free Paragon Hyper-V Host Community Edition Delivers Full Backup of Virtual Machines on Hyper-V Host with One-Click Restore & Ultra-Fast Migration

FREIBURG, Germany – January 29, 2020Paragon Software Group, a recognized data storage expert, releases the free Paragon Backup for Hyper-V Host Community Edition that lets you manage, backup and restore VMs on Hyper-V host and migrate VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines with just one application.


Key backup features include:

  • Flexible scheduling mechanism – backup tasks can be scheduled to run every 15 minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly.
  • Cut storage requirements by up to 80% thanks to incremental imaging, high-level data compression and advanced data exclusion options.
  • Support different backup formats (pVHD, VHD, VHDX, VMDK).
  • Restore an entire virtual machine to a new or original location in one single operation.

With this handy tool, you are also able to migrate virtual machines from vSphere to Hyper-V, as well as run disk contents from turned off virtual machines – even change their layout, and copy files to/from the virtual disks of these machines.


With Paragon Backup for Hyper-V Host Community Edition, you can easily configure on the fly and change your VM’s vCPU, vRAM, and network switch connections on the go, as needed. Better still, Paragon Backup for Hyper-V Host Community Edition is smart, letting you only move data that is actually used by the guest machine, without touching unused disk areas, temporary files, or other files not needed by a migration. Using the product, you can flexibly convert machines with vSphere either remotely, and run the product on the target Hyper-V host, or from the proxy machine on the ESXi host, uploading remotely to the Hyper-V host.


You can also migrate VMs in batch mode, where you can simultaneously move VMs from different vSphere environments. Without batch mode, you can also transfer machines in parallel within a single or different vSpheres. Added flexibility is obtained via scripting and a range of included scripts, with one example being the ability to conditionally launch one migration after the success of another. Want more? Then just create migration jobs to concurrently migrate VMs from the same or different vSphere instances. With a speed of 250GB per hour being between 7200RPM SATA disks via a 1GB LAN cable, migrating VMs won't slow you down. Transferring between SSDs will be faster still.
