Paragon Software Group Chosen by Monument Labs, Inc. to Enhance Connectivity for AI-Driven Personal Cloud Device

Irvine, California and Chicago, Illinois – December 6, 2016 – Paragon Software Group today announced its Universal File System Driver (UFSD) technology has been selected to expand connectivity capabilities for an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven personal cloud device developed by Monument Labs, Inc., which was named one of the hottest 100 startups of 2016 by Wired Magazine (UK).

The new agreement, which is effective immediately, calls for three Paragon UFSD offerings, including NTFS for Linux, HFS+ for Linux and FAT32 for Linux, to be embedded in the Monument desktop device. By leveraging Paragon’s technology, Monument users can attach their NTFS (Windows), HFS+ (Mac) and FAT-formatted storage devices to their Monument personal cloud solution to gain rapid, transparent and full read/write access to these non-native file systems.

The embedded Paragon drivers feature powerful utilities that maintain file system integrity and fully protect stored data, while delivering high performance for smooth playback and recording of Full HD video content including 4K video.

“Paragon is playing a strategic role in the success of our groundbreaking personal cloud device by enhancing storage and connectivity options for our customers through seamless cross-platform interoperability,” said Semih Hazar, CTO of Monument Labs, Inc. “This alliance brings significant value to our company as well as our customers, and we look forward to a bright future ahead with Paragon’s support.”

Based in Chicago, Monument Labs’ desktop device is the first of its kind to use AI to create a secure, instantly organized repository for treasured photos and videos. Monument has all the benefits of cloud storage, with greater ease of use and security, according to Semih. The device uses standard USB disk drives to create a “personal cloud” accessible from anywhere in the world via smartphone, tablet or PC.

Featuring AI algorithms that automatically sort content according to time, location and even people, the device also includes facial recognition software that identifies individuals who can then be browsed and/or recalled whenever desired. Collections can be searched according to what’s inside the device: For example, type in “summer,” “snow,” “Christmas” or “Uncle Bob” and the appropriate photos and videos will be recalled in seconds.

“Monument has hit the ground running with a revolutionary AI-driven offering that solves the challenge of organizing, storing and accessing digital memories in an innovative and cost effective way,” said Tom Fedro, President, Paragon Software Group Corp. “The Paragon team is proud to align with Monument to deliver seamless connectivity, greater storage flexibility and a better customer experience to their installed base.”
